The gap between the cheapest and most expensive platform in this category is roughly eightfold: $46.75 a month at one end, $399 and up at the other. That gap is not mostly about CRM quality. It is about whether leads and a website come with it.
The two genuinely cheap options
IXACT Contact, $46.75/mo billed annually ($55 monthly). Includes the CRM, an agent website, a native mobile app and 2,500 mass emails a month with professionally written newsletters. Month to month, no contract. Team members are $28.90 each.
Wise Agent, $49/mo flat covering up to five people. Includes transaction management with checklists and client portals, a built-in power dialer, and 24/7 live support even on the entry plan. Also month to month, with a 14-day trial that does not ask for a card.
For a two or three person team, Wise Agent’s flat rate is the cheapest per head of anything on the market. For a true solo who lives in email, IXACT is cheaper still.
What you give up at that price
Both are honest about being CRMs rather than lead machines. Specifically, at this price you do not get:
- Leads. Neither generates or sells them. If your problem is an empty pipeline, neither fixes it.
- A real IDX search site. Wise Agent sells IDX separately. IXACT includes a website but true IDX is $50/mo more, which nearly doubles the bill.
- Depth of integrations. Wise Agent lists 100+, IXACT does not publish a count. Follow Up Boss lists 250+.
One more honest note on IXACT: its own site says the free trial is 14 days on the pricing page and five weeks on the features page. Ask before you assume.
The middle: $69 to $179
Follow Up Boss at $69/user/mo is the step up that most often pays for itself, but only for one specific problem: leads going cold before anyone calls. Budget realistically for the calling add-on at $39/user/mo on the entry tier, so about $108 a month for a working setup.
Top Producer at $179/user/mo is harder to recommend for an individual, but its flat team bundles are genuinely cheap at scale: 25 users for $1,199/mo works out under $48 a head. Two caveats: it has the lowest satisfaction score of any platform we track, and its most common complaint is difficulty cancelling.
When paying $300+ is the right call
Only when you are buying a lead source or a website, not a CRM. Sierra Interactive at $299.95/mo and Real Geeks at $399/mo are website-and-lead-capture platforms with a CRM attached. If you already have a site that produces enquiries, you would be paying six times more for the same core job.
Both also lock you in: Sierra requires a 12-month agreement, Real Geeks 6 or 12 months plus a $500 setup fee.
A blunt way to decide
- Have leads, disorganised: Wise Agent $49 or IXACT $46.75.
- Have leads, losing them to slow response: Follow Up Boss, ~$108 realistically.
- No leads and no website: a platform in the $300-400 range, and accept the 12-month term.
- No leads but you do have a website: fix the follow-up first. It is a tenth of the price.
